Obituary of William J. Ryan

Passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2017 at age 92 in Victor, New York. He was predeceased by his parents, John & Ruth (Anderson) Ryan; brother, Jack Ryan; sister, Betty Stone. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Theresa M. (DeLuise) Ryan; children, Michele (David) Butler of Bend, OR, Terri (David) Stalnaker of Little Rock, AR, Tim Ryan of Jackson, MS, Tom (Lisa) Ryan of Victor, NY; grandchildren, Tera Smith, Katie Norton, Ryan Stalnaker, Stacey Burns; great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Emma, Drew, Addison, Avery, Daphne, Owen & Joel; several nieces, nephews and friends. Devoted husband and father, lifelong Yankees fan, and patriotic American, Bill was a decorated Marine Corps veteran who served in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from Syracuse University, class of 1951, and spent 35 years with GTE Sylvania and successor companies retiring in 1987 as the manager of General Accounting. Family and friends are invited to Bill's Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 31st at 10AM at St. Patrick's Church, 115 Maple Avenue in Victor. Interment will be held privately in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620.
