Obituary of Sophia F. Scoda

Scoda, Sophia “Sally” Victor / Canandaigua: on April 14, 2017 at age 98. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Edward; brothers, William, Stanley, Theodore and Charles; sisters, Josephine and Helen. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Bettye) and Thomas (Cindy); granddaughters, Danielle (Matthew) Synborski and Colleen (Scott) Hagadorn, their mother, Ann; great-grandchildren Sophia, Miles, Oliver and Reno Synborski; niece and nephew MaryAnn and Leonard Osenkarski. Sally was born in Duryea, PA to William and Eufemia Osenkarski on April 17, 1918 and lived in Buffalo and Victor before moving to Canandaigua. She enjoyed many years of working at the Finger Lakes Racetrack and Casino. Sally was most happy when spending time with her family and friends. The family thanks the wonderful caring staff at Quail Summit, Light Hill and her caregiver and friend Julie. Sally’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church (115 Maple Ave. / Victor NY) on WEDNESDAY (April 19, 2017) at 10:00AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers friends may contribute to Light Hill Hospice (5160 Parrish Street Extension Canandaigua, NY 14424) or Ontario Yates County Hospice (759 Pre-Emption Road / Geneva, NY 14456) in her memory.
