Obituary of LeRoy J. DeFord, Jr

LeRoy “Roy” aka The Mayor, age 84, died on May 29, 2018.  

LeRoy was born in Manila, Philippine Islands June 4, 1933 to the late LeRoy Marc DeFord and Ida Spivokoff. In 1946 at age 13, LeRoy came to the United States with Ray Maybohm, a US serviceman with whom he had become good friends. He lived with Ray and his family in Rochester, NY until he joined the Navy around 1951. He later served in the Navy Reserves for 20+ years. LeRoy retired from Gleason Works in 1990 where he worked for 37 years. 

LeRoy was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Kathleen "Kay/Katie" Helen (Morrissey) DeFord. He is survived by his daughter Donna (John), his sons Roy (Sandra) and Donald (Heidi); six grandchildren, Courtney DeFord-Paige (Joe) and Kyle, Jacob, Daniel, Nicholas and Andrew; one great granddaughter Sunny; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
